Summa Cum Laude Festival 2027
Austria, Czech Republic, Salzburg
Tuesday 29th June - Sunday 11th July, 2027
A 12-night premier youth music festival for choirs, bands, and orchestras, held every July in Vienna. Perform on world-famous stages like the Golden Hall of the Musikverein while connecting with ensembles from around the globe.
Overview
The Summa Cum Laude International Music Festival 2027 tour is a 12-night European performance journey through Austria and Czechia, centred around participation in one of the world’s premier youth music festivals in Vienna. Designed for choirs, bands and orchestras, the program combines international competition or celebration performances with cultural touring across Salzburg, Vienna, Prague and Munich. Students travel with a dedicated tour manager throughout, ensuring a structured and seamless festival experience from arrival to departure.
The musical highlight of the tour is participation in the SCL Festival in Vienna, including performances in prestigious venues such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the Wiener Konzerthaus, subject to competition selection. Students take part in official festival workshops at the University of Music Vienna, an opening ceremony, gala concert and closing ceremony at Vienna City Hall. Additional professionally organised concerts in Salzburg, Vienna and Prague provide multiple international stage opportunities, including the SCL International Encounter Concert at Prague’s Smetana Hall.
Beyond performance, the itinerary delivers rich cultural immersion. The group enjoys a Guided Sound of Music tour in Salzburg, a city tour including Mozart’s Birthplace, exploration of Vienna’s historic Inner City and Ring Road, entry to the interactive Haus der Musik, and guided sightseeing in Prague and Munich. With festival camaraderie, cultural discovery and world class performance experiences woven together, the tour offers students a truly international musical and educational milestone.
